Beer Bingo At Your Local Pub!

Local pub brings out a large crowd for bi-weekly bingo event.

Beer Bingo In Hartford there's a pub called the Half Door, and each week, twice a week, this pub holds a popular event. This evening of fun is known as Beer Bingo, and is one of the most popular new takes on bingo. Bingo generally brings to mind either casinos or stale old halls with lots of snow white hair blowing about. However, this event's main crowd is in their 20s and 30s!

The atmosphere is meant to be more carefree, less about winning and more about having fun. The top prize is two free drinks, so the stakes are a lot lower, and no cover is required either. Regulars come in, greet the bartenders by name, and enjoy the same old bingo jokes. The folks are cheery after a few pints, and there's no hard feelings after a "big win." Most of the folks, instead of being resentful, take part in a satirical tossing up of their cards in faux-bitterness, sharing in a few feel-good boos and jeers! It's all in good fun at the beer bingo though, and most leave happy.

People come in as early as nine, enjoying the unique spin on a classic game. Jim O'Connell, a working man from Middletown, drives directly to bar bingo from work, with the dress slacks on as proof! He was elated to see a younger crowd, saying "I love bar bingo. It's just a good time to drink and be with friends." Give it a try!
