There's always a calm after a hurricane. No one's around to talk anymore.

Spy Who Called BingoDan took in the situation with cold eyes. Everything had gone according to plan except Patrick. He had been a good friend, and a loyal follower, but his conscience prevented him from a future with the agency. A tragedy, a true waste.

He wiped his gun clean, and walked out over the body of Patrick. Dan realized he had been sweating; it had been an intense, albeit brief, chase. The street was colder now, and loud beyond belief. Sirens, screams, people running, cars racing. It was all so surreal. His serene attitude must have helped, because he caught a cab almost immediately. He picked up his cell phone to call in the job as he drove off into the distance...

There was a flash of light then, in the room where Dan had fired the rifle. The air had an odour as if it had been burned, and the walls cracked and strained as they were pulled inwards. An attractive young man walked into the room then, taking it all in. The disturbed dust; the open door. He walked out into the corridor and saw the blood. He pulled out what looked like a crystal, held it close to his temple. It throbbed a dull blue.

"Aye, HQ, I've arrived then. This seems to be the right place, and it's damned well the right year..."
