A hit or miss perspective on luck
What if everyday life was like a game of bingo, waiting on that lucky break to get your chance, in every activity? Suppose that it was, and just imagine the scenarios.
Traffic lights admit you at random, hoping to get your call before you go flying off down the speedway, shouting bingo as you elatedly carry on your journey, a grin upon your face.
You line up at your desk job with your report, and wait patiently for your ID number to be called before you again dash excitedly to present the report to your higher ups.
After a long day of work, you dash off to the pub to order a pint of your favourite beer, and you excitedly wait at the bar for the bartender to call your number. Hearing it, he dashes over excitedly to serve you, you lucky bingo player you.
Walking home, you pull out your ring of keys and try them at random till you once again hit the lucky one, and are admitted into your home. A lot of these events happen on a day-to-day basis, and aside from being compared to bingo, just as often they do rely on luck.
It makes you think that maybe people are so drawn to bingo because it really is just like real life: a bit of luck, a bit of skill, and a lot of patience!
