Lucky bingo lady from Penycae wins a bingo jackpot over £19,000

A Wrexham bingo player was shocked after discovering she had won more than £19,000 playing bingo.

The lucky 39-year-old hails from Penycae and wishes to remain anonymous. She was playing at the Mecca Club in Wrexham when she won the huge National Bingo Game prize.

The National Bingo Game prize paid £17,255 to the mystery winner, who also won the regional prize of £2,172 and the house prize of £133.

That evening's national prize was actually £34,510 but the bingo winner had to share the huge jackpot with a player in Carlisle, who also completed a full house in 40 numbers, the lowest call in the 470 clubs playing nationwide.

She said: "I couldn't believe it when I realized how much I had won. I sat there with a big smile on my face but with tears running down." The married lucky winner plans to use her cash prize for home improvement, a holiday in the sun with her husband, and will be saving the rest "for a rainy day".
