At the Buckingham Club in Walkden, a 51-year-old foster mom won a jackpot of £100,000 at bingo - then promptly gave away two thirds of her winnings. Declining to give her name, the Radcliffe woman was with her husband and some friends when she picked up the top prize.

After 30 years of playing bingo three times a week, this is by far the largest win for the lucky lady. "My numbers came out so quickly, I just couldn't believe it!" With a 33-year old son, she and her husband (who took an early retirement) are also foster parents. And after winning the huge bingo pot, she decided to share her winnings with the two couples that had joined her in her night out.

"£33,000 each, that's plenty for me." The big bingo winner and her husband plan to use the money to build a home in Spain. Wow - what a generous spirit! It's just the spirit bingo should be known for - fun, friends and cash!
