First UK Bingo Millionaire Hails From Glasgow

Newly jobless mother of two wins UK's first million-pound bingo jackpot.
 

Margaret Shearer won notoriety last week with her monster bingo win in a Glasgow Mecca Bingo club. The 46-year-old mother of two won UK's first million-pound bingo jackpot just three weeks after being made redundant.

Margaret (who hails from the Ruchazie area of Glasgow) was playing a lunchtime bingo session when she won the enormous jackpot.

"It's such an enormous amount that it's difficult to grasp what it really means," said Ms. Shearer. She added that she had been feeling "hot flushes" just before starting to play the bingo session, which she took as a sign that something good was going to happen.

Margaret, who lives with her partner of 30 years, has said that she plans to use her jackpot to buy a dream home for her family.
