Bingo £100k Winner Wins Case!

Bingo £100k Winner Wins Case! A woman from Devon, who won a bingo jackpot of £100,000 back in January at the Gala Bingo Club, has won a court case against two of her own friends, allowing her to keep the winnings without having to share her bingo jackpot.

In January, Stacey Wilson and Abigail Stacey took Ms. Tania Burnett to court, saying they had made a non-formal agreement to share if any of them won large sums of money. Lord Justice May ruled the "casual conversation" as non-binding.

The problem for Ms. Burnett was, although her two friends were legally represented, she had to spend several tens of thousands of pounds to support a court battle, while Ms. Wilson and Ms. Stacey spent tax dollars to use government legal aid! Thankfully, Lord Justice Chadwick and Lord Justice Moore-Bick upheld the ruling of Lord Justice May at the Exeter County Court Ruling.

"The reality is that Miss Wilson and Miss Stacey's bare bones account of what they say was agreed upon scarcely stands as an agreement enforceable and binding in law," said Lord Justice May.
