Player from Acomb, York, is denied £1,000 win!
Recently, while playing at her local bingo club, Bev Milner won a bingo. Not just any bingo, but a £1,000 jackpot in the Nationwide tele-link bingo game! Exciting as it was, it never came to fruition. The local bingo club has decided not to honor her win, because they have said that her cards were not "properly activated".
Although the club is hinting that she is just attempting a cash grab, Mrs. Milner has not one, but several witnesses to not only her purchase, but also her big win. Furthermore, the announcer was heard saying, "Is that a claim in York?"
Bev spent the remainder of the night with the manager of the club, but to no avail - she was told simply that she would not receive the money. She has even asked the bingo club to refer this claim to be disputed by the Gambling Commission.
Mrs. Milner claims she would rather have not won at all than be denied her prize. The bingo club had no comment when approached by the press.
